In a production system, many impacting elements occur outside the direct scope of the company. Social or environmental issues are often upstream, related to the sourcing and the supply chain of a production. Decreasing those impacts starts by gathering extra information, implementing circularity concepts (including recycling) and ethical behaviors (managing and improving working conditions in the supply chain).
EFESO will help clients review end-to-end value chains, designing shorter, safer, and circular supply processes. In some industries, decentralization and increased use of regionally produced components and services can offer solutions. Responsible procurement also ensures sustainability performance among suppliers, increasing respectful and sustainable practices at both ends of the value chain.
New skills (for instance – innovation in the long run while managing day-to-day operations) and knowledge (e.g. GHG emissions, source of materials and their ecological footprint) are key to addressing current sustainability challenges. Making a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy is one thing. Truly realizing and embedding sustainability in reality is another. It requires companies to review key processes and management and operational rituals, overcoming resistance of both managers and employees. Furthermore, to be successful from an end-to-end perspective, requires other collaboration practices with all relevant players.

Internally, EFESO will engage in sustainable procurement for its office equipment (furniture, electronics, PCs, phones, no plastic bottles,…), mobility solutions (reducing travel when possible, promoting low CO2 mobility solutions,…) and to select its service providers (bankers, partners).
