The Challenge

EFESO first collaborated with the client within its cosmetics division, specifically on perfumes, which, while one of the smaller divisions, generates $586 million in revenue. The partnership later expanded to the technical division, which generates over $3.8B billion annually.
The client aimed to achieve 4% annual growth over the next decade. EFESO’s mission was to ensure all operations were aligned with this strategic goal by:

Building greenfield capacity: The company was not yet equipped to support the projected growth.
Conducting supplier analysis: Identifying potential acquisition targets in France, Italy, and other small- to medium-sized supplier markets.
Assessing current performance: Understanding where improvement was possible at the current pace.

A second major challenge was reducing supplier risk for silk sourcing. Half of the company’s silk suppliers are based in China and the other half in Brazil. The main Brazilian supplier, had been losing market share, while government restrictions were reducing land available for mulberry cultivation; essential for silk production. EFESO was asked to analyze the situation and recommend sustainable solutions.

Real Results Achieved Together

EFESO identified several business cases, where two main initiatves where selected and now defined the operational backbone of the client’s decade-long strategic plan and secured long-term resilience in its critical supply chain. This replies to the clients need to arrive each year to its wish growth of four percent.
