Erik Weytjens is principal at EFESO.

Erik has over 30 years of combined experience in consulting and senior management, with a strong focus on energy efficiency, operational excellence, and large-scale transformation. At EFESO, Erik is a leader in the Energy Efficiency and Decarbonization practice and an active member of the Chemicals industry team, driving strategy design, performance improvement, and complex change programs.

Erik is recognized for his ability to create impact through pragmatic solutions and strong stakeholder alignment. Erik’s expertise spans transformation management, corporate strategy, ecosystem development, and operational excellence. Passionate about human dynamics, collaboration, and delivering sustainable outcomes for clients in chemicals, manufacturing, and infrastructure.

Before joining EFESO in 2008, Erik held senior general management roles across the chemicals, engineering, construction, and energy sectors, gaining extensive international leadership experience.

Erik holds an M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from KU Leuven, an M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech, and an MBA from INSEAD. Speaks Dutch, English, French, German, and Italian.
