Michael Metzger is senior expert at EFESO.

With 30 years of experience across management consulting and senior industry roles, Michael has built a strong track record in Operational Excellence, Supply Chain Management, Quality Management, Integrated Business Planning, Digital and S/4HANA Transformation Programs, Business Process Optimization, Reorganization, and Change Management. Since joining EFESO in 2015, Michael has been instrumental in leading large-scale transformation programs across automotive, mechanical engineering, medical devices, aerospace & defense, and high-tech industries, with a consistent focus on value creation and turnaround management supporting private equity clients.

Michael specializes in designing and executing complex transformation journeys, combining operational and digital levers to drive performance improvement and sustainable results. Expertise includes implementing end-to-end supply chain planning, advancing quality and EHS systems, optimizing business processes, and delivering measurable impact in both growth and restructuring contexts.

Before joining EFESO, Michael held senior leadership positions at Bühler Group as Head of Corporate Supply Chain Planning and Corporate Q/EHS, and was Principal at PRTM Management Consultants. Earlier in his career, Michael worked in the automotive sector, including as Quality Manager for BMW special models and Group Leader for Prototype Assembly at Rolls-Royce Aero Engines.

Michael holds a Diploma in Automotive Engineering from Fachhochschule München and an MBA from Henley Business School.
