Torsten Malss is senior principal and head of the Cost Value Engineering at EFESO.

Torsten brings over 15 years of experience in cost engineering, value engineering, and operational excellence across manufacturing and industrial sectors. Leading EFESO’s Cost Value Engineering Practice, managing projects worldwide to optimize product costs, implement VA/VE methodologies, and enhance value creation across diverse industries.

Torsten’s expertise spans product cost calculation, benchmarking, design-to-cost, supplier negotiations, process optimization, performance management, and cost and change management. Torsten delivers measurable impact by working closely with engineering, procurement, and production teams to implement sustainable cost and value solutions.

Before joining EFESO in 2012, Torsten began his career at BOSCH as an operating engineer in large engine production, progressing to team leader in purchasing and logistics for quality management and project procurement. Torsten later gained hands-on experience in cost management and value engineering at TSETINIS, leading the Cost Factory and consulting projects for automotive and industrial clients.

Torsten holds a Diplom-Ingenieur (FH) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Applied Sciences Zwickau and is fluent in German and English.
