Boosting greenhouse gas reduction - panel discussion & roundtables

Welcome and thank you for registering to the executive leadership panel and roundtable discussions.

The spirit of this exclusive event ​is to provide a platform for leading European industrial and logistic players around greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction.

During this half day you will exchange with your peers on how to tackle such challenges and the concrete solutions developed. In particular executive board members of industrial companies will provide exclusive insights on how they realized their sustainability transformation in terms of GHG reduction.

Who will attend

    OQ Chemicals has set itself the goal of reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by 30% by 2030. To achieve this ambitious goal, OQ Chemicals partnered with EFESO to conduct a novel, breakthrough innovation process.

  • Roundtable: Setting up a recycling ecosystem

    Through a partnership of 3 parties and technological innovation, it was possible for ETEX to move from down-cycling to recycling, and evolve to a profitable business model for the 3 business parties. This case has been preselected to be presented on the World Economic Forum of Davos 2023.

    Capital expenditures become increasingly relevant for carbon footprint optimization, as such proper methods and tools taking cost and greenhouse gas aspects into consideration become crucial for decision making.

Speakers

Jacques has been CEO of the Port of Antwerp Bruges since January 2017. Until January 2015, he was CEO at listed Belgian power grid operator Elia, where he held various leadership roles since joining in 2001. Prior to that, Vandermeiren spent eleven years as Senior Advisor Strategy Direction at energy company Electrabel.

As Executive Vice President, Dr. Christoph Balzarek is responsible for Corporate Development, Sustainability and Innovation at OQ Chemicals. Previously, he headed the technology center of the energy company OQ, which was newly founded in 2020.

Veerle has nearly 30 years of experience in various leadership roles in Europe and in the United States. She has a proven track record in business development, operations management as well as in general and portfolio management in the electronics, aviation, oil and gas, steel and chemicals markets.

Bernard gained over 30 years of experience gained across the aerospace, postal, telco, consulting and manufacturing industries. He has a track record in strategic transformation, leading large teams and managing complex relations with unions. Mr. Delvaux joined Etex as Co-CEO in 2021, and as of January 2022, he holds the role of the CEO.
